BOOKS: For book lovers

When you were a kid, did you ever read novels in classes you found boring? I remember when I was thirteen or so, a friend and I were romping through all the novels so temptingly provided by our English teacher and when we could get away with it (in Latin, I seem to remember), we would spend the whole period with a book in our lap, totally absorbed and more than happy ~ while the rest of the group, come to think of it, must have been pretty bored, judging by how they played up the poor teacher...

Anyway, I'm still addicted to reading. Love it! So I'll sometimes post titles I've found particularly good on things like health, self-healing, and other things like that. You can find them under BOOKS.

By the way:
If you buy from and you'd like to support education of girls in isolated mountain regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, you may want to make a habit of going to amazon via ~ Amazon will donate up to 9% of your purchase price to Greg Mortenson's CAI projects.

(I'm gradually transferring the rest of this post to individual posts on each book)

Esther Gokhale, 8 STEPS TO A PAIN-FREE BACK - literally a work of art, with a fantastic collection of photos and artwork illustrating natural "good" posture. Esther describes and illustrates how to sit, stand, walk, lie down - and the results are impressive: people getting relief from carpal tunnel, migraine headaches, etc, not just back pain. More: *Stretching your posture

Farida Sharan, THE OLD MAN AND HIS SOUL - a story that takes an unusual approach to death: the adventure of it and the spiritual preparation that it invites us to make. Nice "spiritual reading" of a non-denominational type. More: *Old Man and His Soul: Review

- The first of Chloe's RR seminar manuals to be available to the public, not just to RR students. If you are interested in what makes relationships work, you'll be fascinated by this book! Divided into 3 sections - the Principle of Interdependence, the Principle of Entrainment and Resonance, the Principle of Polarity - the book presents 14 Repatternings, each with its own introduction. One couple who used the book when it first came out commented that it saved their marriage: the husband loved reading through the lists of positive correlation statements for inspiration and uplift, and the wife used the book to do sessions on them both. (Available at at the Resonance eStore.)
